The question I had asked myself years back was When is there a time that Christmas just isn't Christmas that year? I never knew the answer until this year. It is not Christmas when your family is not there. It is hard enough when they just cannot attend, but when a family member is lost due to death, it is even more so. I lost my sister before Thanksgiving. This Christmas is missing her and it is a feeling that cannot be overshadowed with festivities. So, for us, this is a very meager Christmas. We will spend our time thinking of her and how she has blessed us.
